We felt Luke's first tooth on September 1st, & talked several times about how we should probably start brushing it. When we were reminded during our checkup at Special Kids, we took action. This happened to be right after we felt his 2nd tooth towards the end of September. He kind of likes his 'Mr. Toothbrush Friend', which he gets to see twice a day.

Push-Ups
Saturday's are extra special because Daddy is home. This is often when we give Luke new toys (i.e. toys that have been in storage for awhile). It's fun for Matt to see Luke when he plays with something for the first time.

My Jesus is Still the Same
You've just gone for a routine ultrasound and are told that your child is not going to live. What is your response?
I spent several months reading Angie Smith's blog about her sweet family. (Her husband, Todd, is the lead singer of the Christian group Selah.) I have laughed, cried a lot, and been SO encouraged! Her faith is amazing!! She is so honest about her hurt, grief, anger, & pain....but she can say "My Jesus is Still the Same"! You will be so blessed by reading her story...Audrey's story...

First Football Game
Gotta have good food when you are tailgating!
Daddy had fun showing off his buddy!
Daddy had fun showing off his buddy!
Luke was overwhelmed when the crowd cheered. It was a high scoring game for Riverdale which wasn't so good for him. Watch the progression of his sweet little face.

Moving Out of the Kitchen Sink
When Luke was just a little over 7 month's old, he stopped taking baths in the kitchen sink. He was starting to splash quite a bit so we figured it would be better for that to happen in the big tub. He still used his baby tub since he wasn't sitting up on his own yet.
Sorry you may not be able to hear his bath time cd over our wonderful singing :0)

What's Cooking?
When I was still in college, I ordered hundreds of cooking cards. I love them because they have pictures! I don't think they are available anymore, but Better Homes & Garden has lots of recipes AND pictures online! INGREDIENTS: 1 pound ground beef 1 cup chopped onion 1 (10-ounce) can enchilada sauce 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce 1 (16-ounce) can refried beans 2/3 cup evaporated milk 5 ounces tortilla chips, slightly crushed, plus 2 ounces whole chips 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese Serves 6 1. Preheat oven to 375. Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat; add beef and onion. Cook until beef is browned and crumbly, about 10 minutes; drain well. 2. Add enchilada and tomato sauces to skillet; stir well. Cook until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. 3. Spoon beef mixture into a 2-quart baking dish. Combine beans and evaporated milk in a small bowl. Spread over beef mixture. 4. Arrange whole tortilla chips around the edge of dish. Top casserole with crushed chips. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake casserole until hot and bubbly, about 20 minutes. Now, for those of you who know I am a picky eater, you know the ingredients listed above include several things I have never eaten. I am getting braver, but we left out the beans and onions. So, pretty much, the 'bravery' included trying enchilada and tomato sauces :0) Here's the masterpiece that Matt fixed. It was yummy!
