No surprises this year

Last year at Grammie and Grampa's birthday picnic they found out that both Lydia and I were expecting (remember this). This year the BIG NEWS was......they could hold the surprises from last year :0) It has become a tradition over the last few years to have hamburgers, hotdogs, and shrimp....and of course Pringles. Jasie and Angel know the best place to find food! Eric is sporting a new hair do. I think it's growing on everyone! Uncle Eric always provides exciting adventures for Luke. Look at that smile! A pooped Luke dozed off while sitting up so we moved him to his chariot :0)

If you ever need candles extinguished, you know who to call!

We took a walk down the short little trail, at Long Hunter's State Park, that we used to walk often when I was a kid. It was a fun day and we are so thankful for the years God has blessed Grammie and Grampa with!

Lunch Note

Matt used to take a brown bag lunch to work everyday and I would put a little note in it (hmm...I wonder where I got that idea from). Now he just keeps everything he needs at school so I decided a special email note would be good for his first day. We love you Daddy and are so thankful for the hard work you do for our family!

Gotta Have Pringles

On a hot day in August, Luke went on his first picnic. Barfield Park is just a couple of miles from our home which we have gone to many times before with Jasie. There is a trail that leads to a shallow wading area in the Stones River. I'll never forget the first time that Jasie plunged right into the water. She loves it (until it gets a little deeper)!

This was the first time Luke wore his stylin sunglasses. He has always hated when the sun gets in his eyes so these made being outside much easier for him.

Oh, and you know you've gotta have Pringles if you go on a picnic....at least if you are a Graves :) I have had them every time I've been on a picnic since I was a little girl. They were our special picnic chip. When Spring rolls around, I make sure to buy 2 or 3 cans so that we will be ready whenever we decide it's picnic time (although I have been known to stop at the store on the way to the park).

A Day of Firsts

On one of the few days off Matt had between summer school and the new school year, we 'introduced' Luke to some new things.

* A Titans outfit- Mind you this was back in July. I told Matt it was too early to wear this, but he quickly reminded me it was during training camp :)
*His booster seat....at home- We tried it out at home to see how he'd like it. By the time we got to the restaurant, it was almost nap time so he just stayed in his car seat.

*Buster's Place- This was a first for me too. It is a bar which you may not want to frequent at night, but it's totally 'safe' during the day....unless you take a picture of the wrong person :) Now this is a no frills place. They don't have menus (since your options are only hamburgers and fries) and they bring you a cup of ice with your can of coke. Since I use a fork and knife for pretty much every meal, I had to ask the waitress if they happened to have any. Thankfully for me they did. Matt, on the other hand, was wondering if bringing his picture snapping, utensil crazy wife was such a good idea.

*His stroller without his car seat- Up until this point he wasn't big enough to ride this way.

*And his doorway bouncer- He loves it! The first video is from 07/29. The second one is from 09/22. Things to notice while you are watching: How proficient Luke has become at jumping & how I don't 'scream' the whole time in the 2nd video :)
