What has 15 toys within an arms reach?

An Exersaucer!

These pictures are from the first time Luke played in it. We would spin him every so often to a new toy. He liked them all! It's great for his feet too since he stands and bounces.

Did I Miss a Spot?

A couple of days after Luke had his feeding tube out I called Mrs. Jackie (my lactation consultant). Luke was doing pretty well with his volume, but we didn't want to take any chances. Since he had hit the 4 month mark that makes spoon feeding safe, she gave it a try. He did really well! Of course he had a lot come out, just like any baby, but overall she was impressed. Since then, when he stops eating from the bottle, we get as much rice cereal in him as we can.

Confessions of a Chocoholic

I discovered these double chocolate chip muffins at Sam's a few months ago. I love them & they are much better than Otis Spunkmeyer (which I've had to "suffer" and eat when we haven't been able to get to Sam's in time). Recently Matt had to actually ask the bakery if they had any available, since none were on the shelf. Thankfully they had some coming right out of the oven!

"Tell Me You Like My Hat!"

Does anyone know what movie that line is from? The answer has already been given, but let me know if you are a movie buff too :)

4th of July weekend

Every 4th of July we go to Uncle Stanley and Aunt Sharon's for LOTS of food as we relax to the sounds of the country. So here are some pictures from our Fun on the Farm......

This was Luke's Great Grandfather's tractor that Pa used to drive around. The house in the background is where Pa grew up.

Luke is wearing his first 3-6 month outfit, which MeMa gave him.
Congratulations to Aunt Barbara who is going to be wed to Mr. Billy this Fall!
Uncle Leslie gave Luke a very fun musical
toy! It's great because you can take it with you when a mobile, etc. isn't available.
Be sure to check out the video to see how cousin LaConda made Luke laugh this hard for the first time.

I guess no visit to the farm is complete without finding a tick on someone. I'm so glad Pa spotted this, and from quite some distance, I might add.

Back at our house we got to grill hamburgers and hot dogs with Grammie and Grampa. We didn't watch any fireworks this year, but there were lots of them going off. We wondered it Luke would wake up, but he slept like a baby :) Poor Jasie was just as scared as always, but thankfully she didn't get lost on the farm this time!

Bumbo time

Sitting up is fun, but even more fun with toys! Maybe they could come up with a way for the toys to be attached to the tray. I guess they know momma or daddy will be close by to pick them up :)

Notice anything missing? That's right, he's been without a feeding tube for 5 1/2 weeks now!
Instructions for how to sit in a Bumbo come in 16 different languages!

Happy 4 month birthday

Luke turned 4 months old on June 27th. Here are some things that happened in his 4th month of life that haven't already been blogged about......

He outgrew newborn clothes.

He started Books and Babies at the Smyrna library. I believe he was always the youngest there. They would read 1 story, sing several songs, use the flannel board for a story, and have a puppet show. He liked the songs and when they would bring the puppets by him the best.
He started sucking his thumb while on his belly and then while sitting up.

We thought some teeth might be starting to come in since we saw some white bumps on the front part of his gums.
He got new toys to play with at MeMa and Pa's.
Jasie got new toys too.

Daddy turned 32! He had 2 parties, each with his favorite cake (yellow with chocolate icing), but as you can see he wasn't really the center of attention :)

He slept in his pack and play for the first time while we were at MeMa and Pa's. The second picture shows his tube out, that he rotated himself, and removed his blanket. (He became very good at pulling his tube out since he discovered how to use his hands.)

He started "Your Baby Can Read!". He loves the video and is very attentive. Daddy may even be learning something :)

Last, but definitely not least....He had lots of animals waiting on him in his crib, so he decided to pay them a visit....not all of the animals wanted to stay (see the 3rd picture). The first time he slept in the crib was for a nap. I just moved the basket part of his bassinet into the crib since he was still going to sleep in our room that night. Once he started sleeping in the crib at night, we took the bassinet away. He still slept on an incline since he had reflux problems.
