The Name is....

God has blessed us with a little boy, and we have decided to call him Luke Robert Dodd. The decision to name him Luke has some funny stories associated with it. As stated earlier on this blog, we decided to nickname him 'Sunshine.' We didn't know what name we would choose, but Luke means 'Bringer of Light'! Luke was also one of Matt's favorite books of the Bible.

Now, the person responsible for coming up with the name of Luke AND his nickname is under some debate. Laura thinks she came up with it, but I am pretty sure that I did. :) Once the discussion was started about the name Luke, Laura was afraid that I wanted to name him after Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. I told her that was not the case, and if it were, then I would've liked to name him Chewbacca and call him Chewie! That discussion caused us to laugh a lot!

The middle name Robert has been in Matt's family for four generations. It is Matt's middle name, his dad's first name, and his grandfather's middle name.

May God bless our son and we pray that he will be able to bring the Light of Jesus to this world. Luke definitely has brought sunshine into our lives!!
