Luke was really enjoying cruising around the furniture, etc. so we thought he might like to have his walking toy a few weeks before his birthday. He and Harry became best friends right from the beginning.
At the beginning of February, Luke decided to try out the stairs leading to our bonus room. I had gone upstairs to grab something & when I came down 1 min. later he was on the 2nd stair!! Needless to say, I don't have a picture of that, but these are some pictures from the night Pa & MeMa came over to help install gates. Luke's bib must have inspired him to play with Jasie's toy. Pa even thought he might start barking :0)
While we were in Gatlinburg, I wanted to get Luke a sled (they are in abundance at that Walmart, and you can't find them anywhere around here), but we didn't have any room. In case you don't know, I don't travel lightly~ especially to a cabin. We managed to squeeze in the FridgePhonics Alphabet Set which has proved to bring hours of fun!
Luke needed a kitchen drawer of his own, somewhere he could play without having to hear "close that" or "no touch". I found a cute spoon and spatula in Gatlinburg and some things we never used to help fill it up.
You can often find Luke in his room looking through his books and trying to get his "special" toys out of the drawer before I catch him :0)
This video shows the first time that Luke "helped" to give Jasie a little taste of his food. Yum Yum!
Saturday's are extra special because Daddy is home. This is often when we give Luke new toys (i.e. toys that have been in storage for awhile). It's fun for Matt to see Luke when he plays with something for the first time.
On one of the few days off Matt had between summer school and the new school year, we 'introduced' Luke to some new things.
* A Titans outfit- Mind you this was back in July. I told Matt it was too early to wear this, but he quickly reminded me it was during training camp :) *His booster seat....at home- We tried it out at home to see how he'd like it. By the time we got to the restaurant, it was almost nap time so he just stayed in his car seat.
*Buster's Place- This was a first for me too. It is a bar which you may not want to frequent at night, but it's totally 'safe' during the day....unless you take a picture of the wrong person :) Now this is a no frills place. They don't have menus (since your options are only hamburgers and fries) and they bring you a cup of ice with your can of coke. Since I use a fork and knife for pretty much every meal, I had to ask the waitress if they happened to have any. Thankfully for me they did. Matt, on the other hand, was wondering if bringing his picture snapping, utensil crazy wife was such a good idea.
*His stroller without his car seat- Up until this point he wasn't big enough to ride this way.
*And his doorway bouncer- He loves it! The first video is from 07/29. The second one is from 09/22. Things to notice while you are watching: How proficient Luke has become at jumping & how I don't 'scream' the whole time in the 2nd video :)
I'm a stay at home mom that entered my thirties in 2009! I married my wonderful husband, Matt, on June 15, 2002. We welcomed the pitter patter of Jasie's 7 week old puppy feet to our house on July 3, 2003. She was our only baby until Luke ('Sunshine') was born on February 27, 2009. Our newest addition was born on Christmas Day 2010. Abbie ('Lovey') will always be our best Christmas present!
I strive to follow our FAMILY rules: Give thanks, Rejoice in this day the Lord has made, Share, Love the Lord your God with all your heart/soul/and mind, Love one another, May every word be full of grace, and NO whining-EVER!
I'm working on couponing, think french fries are a vegetable, and love Etsy (especially for matching sibling shirts). I'm also a list maker, but don't get to cross things off nearly as much as I'd like to. I have dreams of quilting, scrapbooking, cooking great meals, reading what's on my stocked bookshelves, organizing, learning how to use my camera, journaling,....
I'm thankful that all these things can wait, along with a clean house, because my days are filled with Sunshine and Lovey!
